In 1799, Ephraim Quinby purchased 441 acres from the Connecticut Land Company. Quinby named his town Warren, in honor of Moses Warren, surveyor of the Connecticut Western Reserve. He then donated four acres in the center of the community to be used as a village square. Today, it is known as Courthouse Park.
